KUWAIT CITY, May 24: The Court of Appeals upheld the ruling of a lower court, which had earlier sentenced an Ethiopian household worker to death by hanging for stabbing to death her Indian colleague in the suburb of Abdullah Al- Mubarak on the first day of the holy month of Ramadan in 2021.

Case files indicate the Operations Unit in the Interior Ministry received a report a few minutes before the breaking of fast from a citizen who said his two household workers had a fight, leading to the death of one of them.

The Farwaniya investigation officers arrested the Ethiopian in Al-Balagh site, where they found the knife that she used to commit the crime. During interrogation, the defendant confessed to killing her colleague. In her initial confession, the accused stated that the incident occurred due to problems between her and the victim due to the distribution of work in the kitchen.
