DOHA, June 30, (KUNA): Kuwait Red Crescent Society (KRCS) and Qatar Red Crescent Society (QRCS) inked on Tuesday a cooperation deal to carry out a project on improving living conditions and providing healthcare to the Myanmar refugee camps in Bangladesh. Qatar Red Crescent Society (QRCS) said in a statement the deal was signed by its secretary general Ali bin Hassan Al-Hamadi and Chairman of the Board of Directors of KRCS Dr. Hilal Al-Sayer.

The project, worth USD three million, will be executed in Cox’s Bazaar in Bangladesh in cooperation with its red crescent society, it added, noting that the scheme will benefit over 800,000 refugees. QRCS provides USD 2.5 million, while Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development offers USD 500,000 to fund the project. Under the deal, two mosques or two social centers will be established to help the beneficiaries practice their religious rites and organize activities in a safe environment, according to the statement
