Deaf and dumb robbing expats

KUWAIT CITY, May 7: Police have arrested a Kuwaiti woman and her compatriot boyfriend — who is believed to be deaf and dumb — for robbing expatriates at knifepoint, reports Al-Rai daily.

A security source said the arrest came after an Egyptian filed a complaint with the Andalus police accusing a woman the woman and her deaf ‘husband’ of robbing him.

He said he called a number mentioned in an advertisement for the sale of car. A woman answered and he was told to meet at a certain point to try the car. When he arrived at the given address, the woman was waiting with her dumb and deaf ‘husband’.

The woman told him to get behind the wheel to try the car and asked permission for her husband to ride in the passenger seat and she herself got in the back seat. While on the way, she pulled out a knife, held it to the neck of the Egyptian and ordered him to hand over all the money and cell phone.

Intensive investigation by police led to the arrest of the couple. During interrogation she admitted to committing eight crimes after luring the victims in the same manner. Police have summoned four victims whose ID were found in possession of the robbers.
