KUWAIT CITY, Nov 12: Zain Kuwait recognized the most outstanding players in the local Premier League (Dawri Zain) by presenting the Player of the Round awards to the winners from the opening rounds of the new 2025/2026 season, in partnership with the Kuwait Football Association.
The ceremony took place live on Kuwait TV’s Sports Channel during the popular Bil Center program, joined by KFA Chairman Sheikh Ahmad Al-Yousef Al-Sabah, Zain Kuwait’s Chief Corporate Affairs and Relations Officer Waleed Al-Khashti, members of the Technical Committee, and Zain’s team.
Zain presented the KD 500 Player of the Round prize to Fahaheel’s Salman Al-Bous for Round 1, Al-Shabab’s Saud Al-Qenaei for Round 2, Qadsia’s Eid Al-Rashidi for Round 3, Salmiya’s Muath Al-Osaima for Round 4, Kuwait SC’s Mohammed Al-Furaih for Round 5, and Kazma’s Othman Al-Shammari for Round 7. The Round 6 winner will be announced upon completion of the postponed fixtures.
Before the season kicked off, the Kuwait Football Association formed a Technical Committee of experienced former locals and internationals to set the criteria for selecting the winners of Zain’s awards. The committee members are Mohammed Al-Failakawi (Chairman), Samir Dashti (Vice Chairman), Adel Yousif, Hussein Hakem, and Nawaf Al-Khaldi.
For the fourth consecutive season, Zain is fulfilling its commitment to support athletes, players, and fans through its incentive awards, offering the largest prize pool in the history of the domestic league with a total exceeding KD 60,000 per season. The initiative encourages rising sporting talent, motivates players to raise their performance, and presents the league in its best light for Kuwaiti fans.
This support reflects Zain’s belief in the vital role of Kuwait’s private sector in developing local sports and taking them to new levels. The company’s partnership with the league has contributed to its strong performance in previous seasons, uplifting standards, adding excitement and energy, and delivering a renewed experience for fans and football lovers.
Zain’s awards this season include KD 10,000 for Player of the Season, KD 5,000 for Top Scorer (professionals), KD 5,000 for Top Scorer (locals), KD 5,000 for Best Goalkeeper, KD 3,000 for Best Coach, KD 2,000 for Rising Star of the Season, and KD 500 per round for Player of the Round.
Recently, the company unveiled the refreshed Dawri Zain brand identity, reimagined to reflect the Kuwaiti spirit and local cultural heritage. The logo’s design was inspired by the visual identity of the Khaleeji Zain 26 tournament that Kuwait successfully hosted at the end of last year.
The design incorporates symbolic elements from Kuwait’s environment and culture, including desert dunes, the Kuwaiti boom (sailing ship), the camel, the Arabic letter "Alif" to represent the Arabic language, and the traditional "iqal" headband, all creatively combined into the shape of the league’s emblem. The blue color palette was chosen to reflect the ‘Kuwait Blue’, enhancing the local and national identity of the league.
Zain affirmed that this brand refresh is part of its extended strategic partnership with the Kuwait Football Association for the 2022–2026 seasons. The agreement includes official sponsorship of the Zain Premier League (Dawri Zain), First Division League, HH the Amir’s Cup, and HH the Crown Prince’s Cup.
