KUWAIT CITY, Dec 7: Renowned actor Dawoud Hussein is currently in Tunisia as a distinguished guest at the 24th edition of the “Carthage Theater Days” festival. The festival, which commenced last Saturday amidst a subdued atmosphere due to the tragic war in Gaza, Palestine, will continue until the 10th of this month, themed “40 Years of Theater We Live.”

Dawoud Hussein is slated to receive an honor at the closing ceremony, alongside other prominent figures in the global theater arena. The celebrated actor expressed his aspirations to amplify the voice of the Palestinian truth through this international festival.

Kuwait also entered the competition at “Carthage Days” with the play “Silence,” written and directed by Suleiman Al-Bassam. The play addresses the Beirut port bombing, exploring various forms of resistance against violence and media misinformation. It underscores the powerful expression of choosing absolute silence as a sovereign form of protest.

The play’s diverse team includes members from Europe and the Arab world, featuring Syrian-French actress Hala Omran, the “Two or The Dragon” team, musicians Ali Hout and Abdel-Rida Qubaisi from Lebanon, and renowned French scenographer Eric Soyer.
