Data center tender awaits CAPT nod

The National Data Center project is a significant technological initiative that will bring about a qualitative shift in the information technology sector. It enables government entities to rapidly restore their automated services in the event of emergencies or malfunctions at their primary data centers. CAIT plays a crucial role in this project. Acting as the government’s center of expertise, it provides the necessary operational environment for each government entity, including the required physical space for equipment, power supply, cooling systems and centralized monitoring. It is worth noting that in 2015, the Council of Ministers issued a resolution on the establishment of the center.

This resolution mandates government entities to immediately host their backup automated systems at the National Data Center. This measure ensures that they can quickly restore services following failures at their primary data centers, while providing a secure shared hosting environment for all government entities. CIAT based its request on Article 17 of the Public Tenders Law, which governs contracting through bidding, competitive negotiation or the solicitation of offers. Once the tendering process is approved, CAPT will set a deadline for companies to submit their bids, which will then be referred to CAIT for evaluation, followed by a decision to award the contract to the company whose bid complies with the specifications and conditions.
