DAI takes Islamic arts global through Al-Sabah Collection

WASHINGTON, Sept 5 : Kuwait’s Ambassador to the United States Sheikha Al-Zain Al-Sabah affirmed Saturday the pivotal role of Dar Al-Athar Al-Islamiyyah (DAI) and its Al-Sabah Artifacts Collection in showcasing key historical epochs of Islamic art and civilization globally. In a statement to the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) during her visit to the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts in Richmond, Sheikha Al-Zain inspected the “Great Mughals of India” exhibition, which features rare items on loan from the Al-Sabah Collection highlighting the artistic and cultural legacy of the Mughal Empire.

The Ambassador emphasized that participating in major international exhibitions reflects Kuwait’s enduring commitment to preserving and disseminating Islamic cultural heritage on the world stage. She added that displaying these rare artifacts serves as a vital bridge for cross-cultural communication, fostering dialogue and strengthening artistic and historical ties between the State of Kuwait and the United States. The inclusion of the Al-Sabah Collection items underscores the international prestige of Kuwait’s cultural holdings, which encompass numerous artifacts representing the progression of Islamic civilization across diverse geographic regions.  (KUNA)
