Customs seize 3 expats for possessing drugs, liquor

KUWAIT CITY, July 1: Three expatriates were arrested separately at Kuwait International Airport for attempting to smuggle drugs and liquor into the country, reports Al-Seyassah daily.

A member of the Customs Media Committee Nawaf Al-Mutairi explained that an Asian expatriate was arrested at the airport in possession of 170 grams of hashish divided into 41 pieces, and an imported liquor bottle.

The suspect had arrived at the airport from his country, and customs officers checked his luggage after suspecting him, and found the hashish pieces and liquor bottle.

Meanwhile, another Asian expatriate was arrested at the airport for attempting to smuggle 24 liters of liquor stored in 14 plastic containers into the country. In addition, an expatriate woman was arrested in possession of hashish and various types of narcotic pills that were hidden in her luggage. All of the aforementioned suspects were referred to the concerned authorities for necessary legal action.
