Customs seizes 18million narcotic pills from 4 containers

KUWAIT CITY, March 26: Customs officers have thwarted an attempt to smuggle 18 million narcotic sachets, after it arrived at the air warehouses in 4 containers, reports Al- Rai daily. The Public Relations Department of Customs stated that “after the arrival of two shipments belonging to two companies, in 4 containers, to the air warehouse, the customs inspectors suspected these containers and ordered a thorough check.

The customs officers added that the first shipment, which consisted of two containers weighing 27 and a half tons and upon examination it was found that it contained 2,000 bags of drugs and inside each bag there were 100 boxes, each with 60 sachets, and a total of 12 million betel leaves. The second shipment was of clothes and they were neatly arranged in front and back of the container and in the middle were 500 cartons each with 1,000 boxes each containing 100 sachets of drugs and 6 million beetle leaves. The two shipments, which contained 18 million narcotics were seized.
