KUWAIT CITY: The General Administration of Customs has stepped up preparations at Kuwait International Airport’s Terminal 4 (T4) following an inspection tour conducted by Mr. Saleh Mohammed Al-Omar, Deputy Director General for Ports, Search, and Customs Investigation Affairs.
The visit was carried out as part of ongoing efforts to ensure full operational readiness ahead of the official launch of the terminal. During the inspection, Al-Omar reviewed the readiness of customs infrastructure and facilities inside T4, with a focus on ensuring that all systems are fully integrated and compliant with approved customs procedures. He also assessed operational workflows, including passenger processing systems and cargo handling mechanisms, to guarantee smooth movement, efficiency, and high levels of accuracy in inspection and clearance processes.
Al-Omar received detailed technical and operational briefings from field officials at the airport, who outlined the coordination framework between customs authorities and other relevant stakeholders operating at the airport. These included procedures related to security checks, inspection protocols, and the integration of digital systems designed to streamline customs operations.
The Deputy Director General emphasized the importance of strict adherence to established customs regulations, noting that compliance with procedures and the adoption of internationally recognized best practices are essential to ensuring effective monitoring and inspection processes. He also stressed the need for continuous coordination among all airport authorities to avoid operational delays and enhance overall efficiency.
He further stated that the inspection tour forms part of a broader strategic plan by the customs authority to modernize and strengthen operations across all land, sea, and air ports in Kuwait. According to him, achieving full readiness before the terminal becomes operational is a key priority, with intensified efforts underway to ensure a smooth and secure launch.
Al-Omar added that the development of Terminal 4 reflects the ongoing advancement of Kuwait’s customs infrastructure and supports the country’s broader goals of facilitating travel and trade while maintaining high standards of security and operational excellence.
