Customs at Kuwait's Jazeera Airways Terminal 5 Seize 4,255 Captagon Pills from Syria-Bound Passenger

KUWAIT CITY, Aug. 7: Customs inspectors at Terminal 5 of Kuwait International Airport have foiled an attempt to smuggle 4,255 Captagon pills concealed in the luggage of a passenger arriving from Syria on a private airline flight.

According to the General Administration of Customs, officers became suspicious of the passenger's baggage and conducted a detailed inspection using scanning equipment. The search uncovered three boxes containing the banned pills, which had been hidden among personal belongings in an apparent attempt to evade detection.

Authorities immediately initiated legal procedures, prepared a seizure report, and referred the suspect along with the confiscated narcotics to the General Department for Drug Control for further investigation and legal action.

The General Administration of Customs reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening inspection and monitoring measures at border entry points and continuing efforts to combat drug smuggling in order to safeguard the country's security and public safety.
