KUWAIT CITY, Feb 24: The Ministry of Commerce and Industry announced the creation of a system according to which a text message will be sent to the holder of the ration card after purchasing food supplies, to tighten control over subsidized materials, reports Al-Rai daily.
It is said the Minister of Commerce and Industry and Minister of State for Economic Affairs Faisal Al-Medlej has stressed on the importance of controlling subsidized materials and prevent people from misusing the facility.
He indicated this service will give opportunity for ration card holders to follow up on the materials they purchased and others that they did not receive. The source stated as soon as the owner of the card purchases any of the ration materials, the system sends him a message of what he has purchased and what quantity remains in his account.
