CSC OKs hiring expat teachers - 324 posts still vacant

KUWAIT CITY, Sept 21: The Civil Service Commission (CSC) has asked the Ministry of Education to resume the process of contracting non- Kuwaiti teachers for the 2025/2026 academic year in the scientific and humanities disciplines specified in the latest job vacancy announcement of the ministry, provided the applicants meet the conditions, reports Al-Seyassah daily.

The CSC underscored the importance of complying with the regulations and conditions governing these contracts, based strictly on actual manpower needs. The daily obtained a copy of the letter addressed to the undersecretary of the ministry, in which the CSC stated that it nominated a number of Kuwaiti applicants registered in the employment system for teaching positions in the Ministry of Education from April 1 to Aug 1, 2025. It confirmed the nomination of 726 teachers (178 male and 548 female), while the ministry initially indicated it needs 776 teachers (401 male and 375 female). The remaining vacancies include 25 positions for General Science, six for Chemistry, 13 for Biology and three for Geology.

The CSC requested the ministry to submit a report detailing the name, national identification number, gender, subject specialization, and type of contract for each remaining teacher to be appointed, with a separate letter issued for each, in accordance with the provisions of Circular No. 3/2017, which gives priority to non-Kuwaiti applicants born to Kuwaiti mothers. According to the table attached by the CSC, the ministry still needs 324 teachers -- 236 males and 88 females as follows: two female English teachers, 15 male French teachers, 55 male Mathematics teachers, 60 female Mathematics teachers, 25 male General Science teachers, 17 male Physics teachers, 11 female Physics teachers, six male Chemistry teachers, 13 male Biology teachers, three male Geology teachers, 15 male Philosophy teachers, one male Computer Science teacher, 13 male Social Studies teachers, two male Interior Design teachers, seven male Electrical and Electronics teachers, nine male History teachers, and nine male Geography teachers.
