KUWAIT CITY, May 19 (KUNA): His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah on Monday sent a congratulatory letter to Al-Arabi SC chairman Abdulaziz Ahmad Ashour and the club’s staff following their victory in the final of His Highness the Crown Prince Cup, securing the trophy.
In his message, His Highness praised the well-deserved triumph, stressing that it reflected the significant efforts and dedication of the club’s management and staff, as well as the high technical standards and determination shown by the players. He added that Al-Arabi’s performances throughout the tournament had earned widespread admiration from Kuwaiti sports fans.
He wished Al-Arabi SC continued success and further achievements across various sporting competitions, contributing to raising Kuwait’s standing under the leadership of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah.
In a separate letter, His Highness the Crown Prince also extended thanks to the Chairman and staff of the Kuwait Football Association (KFA), Sheikh Ahmad Al-Yousef Al-Sabah, commending their efforts in organizing the tournament and contributing to its success in an honorable manner.
The message came after the conclusion of the 2025-2026 Crown Prince Cup final, in which Al-Arabi SC defeated Kuwait Club 3-0 to claim its tenth title in the competition’s history.
His Highness noted that the tournament reflected strong support for Kuwaiti sport and provided a platform for players to compete in a competitive and high-quality environment, showcasing strong technical standards.
He also praised the KFA’s role in developing Kuwaiti football, supporting young talent, improving the sports system in line with international standards, and promoting sportsmanship and ethical values.
His Highness wished the KFA continued success in fulfilling its national responsibilities and in further elevating Kuwait’s presence in regional and international sporting arenas.
Minister of State for Youth and Sports Affairs Dr. Tareq Al-Jalahma said that the Crown Prince’s patronage and presence at the final highlighted the state’s strong and continued support for the sports sector.
He noted that the final demonstrated the importance placed on sports in promoting values of belonging, excellence, and fair competition among youth.
He added that the atmosphere of the match reflected the passion of the fans and the success of organizational efforts by the relevant authorities.
Acting Director General of the Public Authority for Sports, Bashar Abdullah, also said the Crown Prince’s presence underscored the leadership’s strong backing of the sports and youth sectors, describing the final as a major national sporting event that drew wide attention across the country.
