CASCAIS, Aug 11: Portuguese football superstar Cristiano Ronaldo has married Spanish model Georgina Rodríguez after nearly a decade together, with the couple tying the knot in a civil ceremony in Cascais, Portugal, on August 11.

Ronaldo and Rodríguez announced their marriage on Instagram shortly after the ceremony, sharing a photograph of their hands displaying their wedding rings.

The couple began their relationship in 2016 and have two daughters together. They are raising five children as a family.

Rodríguez announced their engagement in August 2025, posting a photograph of her engagement ring on social media.

Ronaldo had previously indicated that the wedding would take place after the FIFA World Cup, but had not disclosed a specific date or location.

Speculation about the ceremony intensified a day earlier after tabloids reported that the couple would marry on August 8 at a cathedral in Funchal, Madeira. Around 2,000 people reportedly gathered at the location expecting to see the football star and Rodríguez, but the ceremony did not take place there.

The couple instead held the private civil ceremony in Cascais on August 11 and revealed the news only afterward through their social media announcement.
