LOS ANGELES, Feb 28, (Agencies): Ja Rule reveals he has been barred from entering the UK just days before kicking off his highly anticipated Sunrise Tour. The rapper expressed his disappointment in a series of posts on X (formerly Twitter), sharing his frustration over the unexpected denial.

In his initial post, Ja Rule expressed devastation, citing that he had invested a significant sum of his own money – half a million dollars – into the tour’s production. With venues already 85% sold, the sudden entry denial felt profoundly unfair to both him and his fans.

A subsequent post clarified that the UK authorities based the denial on his criminal record, as the country is among the few in Europe that restrict entry for individuals with certain criminal convictions. The post explained the UK’s criteria, stating that individuals with convictions punishable by 23 months or more under British law or those who have served more than 12 months in prison are likely to be denied entry.

Ja Rule emphasized the epic nature of the concert’s production while responding to fans, underscoring the disappointment of being unable to bring the show to his UK audience. The artist also shared the update on Instagram.

According to Unlock, a UK charity assisting individuals with criminal records, the UK generally refuses entry to those who have been previously convicted of offenses punishable by at least 12 months of imprisonment.
