ABU DHABI, Sep 4: Abu Dhabi Police, in cooperation with the Monitoring and Control Center, has released a video showing a traffic accident caused by driver distraction and stopping in the middle of the road, triggering a series of subsequent collisions involving other motorists.
The Traffic and Security Patrols Directorate warned that stopping suddenly in the middle of the road, particularly during an emergency, poses a serious danger to road users. Drivers who can still move their vehicles are advised to continue to the nearest exit or safe location. If the vehicle cannot be moved, motorists should immediately call the Command and Control Center at 999 for assistance. Police urged drivers to remain fully focused while driving and stay alert to unexpected road situations to help prevent serious accidents and maintain smooth traffic flow.
