Crack Down on Expired and Unhygienic Food Sellers

KUWAIT CITY, Oct 1:  In a bid to apprehend lawbreakers and individuals engaged in illicit activities, the General Department of Criminal Investigation’s “Capital Governorate Investigation Department” has made significant arrests. Two expats were apprehended for converting rooms within a residential building into an unlicensed grocery store, where they were discovered selling expired goods and tampering with expiration dates. Additionally, three individuals were taken into custody for operating an unauthorized cafe in the basement of an unlicensed building, while another three individuals were arrested for running an unlicensed restaurant in a house located in the Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh area, where they were serving expired products.

Furthermore, the Farwaniya Governorate Investigation Department successfully detained a street vendor selling food and beverages to passersby and residences without the necessary permits. These offenders are currently undergoing the legal referral process, and all confiscated items have been handed over to the appropriate authorities for further action.
