Crackdown on Fake Goods: 3,602 Counterfeit Items Seized in Hawally Shops

KUWAIT CITY, Nov 25: Teams from the Ministry of Commerce and Industry have intensified their market inspection campaigns in Hawalli Governorate, uncovering a significant number of counterfeit goods being sold as original brand products.

During the latest inspection rounds, authorities seized a total of 3,602 counterfeit items, including clothing, bags, shoes, and women’s accessories. The seized goods were found in several commercial establishments that were engaged in possessing, displaying, and selling imitation products in violation of consumer protection and intellectual property regulations.

Violation reports were promptly issued against the offending establishments, and legal action has been taken to hold them accountable. The Ministry emphasized that such measures aim to safeguard consumers, protect legitimate businesses, and maintain the integrity of the marketplace.

The Ministry of Commerce and Industry has reiterated its commitment to continuing rigorous inspections and taking strict action against all forms of commercial fraud and counterfeit trading.
