CPA reaches ‘deal’ with Delivery Co to eliminate monopolization

KUWAIT CITY, Nov 27: Competition Protection Authority (CPA) signed an agreement with Delivery Hero Company, the owner of the two delivery companies Talabat and Carriage, to amend the contracts signed between the company and restaurants and other companies in Kuwait reports Al-Qabas daily quoting informed sources.

They explained that the amendments included cancelation and change in items in the contracts that CPA found illegal. The Delivery Hero Company invested about $500 million in Kuwait in the recent years, making it one of the most important foreign investor in Kuwait.

The term of exclusivity in the contracts between the company and the restaurants in Kuwait will be removed from the new contracts. The new form of the contracts will come into effect after it is approved by CPA.
