Court sentences man to ‘death’ for killing his wife with hammer

KUWAIT CITY, April 11: The Criminal Court sentenced a man to death for killing his wife with a hammer in Taima’a. Attorney Jarrah Al-Anzi, lawyer for the victim’s relatives, disclosed there was a dispute between the victim and her husband.

He said the husband prepared a hammer with the intention of committing the crime. He added the accused waited until his wife fell asleep and at about 4:00 am, he locked the door of the bedroom and started kicking and beating his wife before hitting with the hammer.

The victim tried to ask for the help of her daughter but the latter failed to save her as the door was locked. After ensuring his wife was dead, the husband opened the door with spots of blood on his clothes. He tried to prevent his daughter from calling police, the lawyer added.
