KUWAIT CITY, May 21: The Criminal Court, led by Judge Nayef Al-Dahoum, has postponed the case against former MP Dr. Walid Al-Tabtabaei to June 3 to hear the defense's arguments. The court also denied the defense's request to release Al-Tabtabaei.

In the first session of the trial, Al-Tabtabaei faced charges of challenging the authority of His Highness the Amir following a tweet he allegedly posted in response to the Amir's speech dissolving the National Assembly. Al-Tabtabaei denied the accusations, asserting that the tweet was falsely attributed to him and did not originate from his account on the X platform.

The defense requested Al-Tabtabaei's release on any bail amount set by the court and asked for a scheduled hearing to present his case.

Additionally, tomorrow, the Criminal Court, presided over by Judge Ahmed Al-Sadi, will deliver its verdict in the case of former Fourth District candidate Musaed Al-Qarifa, who is accused of insulting the Amir in a speech he delivered at an election seminar.
