KUWAIT CITY, Oct 2: The Family Court ruled in favor of the paternity test of a young man and granted him the right to obtain identification documents after exceeding 20 years of age, in addition to the right to inherit after the death of his father.

According to the case files, the plaintiff filed a paternity case after the death of his father and his mother reached the old age, before which the plaintiff did not possess any identification to prove his paternity claim.

Lawyer for the plaintiff, Attorney Jarrah Al-Enezi, argued that his client was conceived in a legal marriage so he deserves identification document which proves his paternal relations with his late father, in addition to the right to be the legal heir of his late father.

Al-Enezi presented to the court the marriage certificate which proved his client’s father and mother were legally married, and that his birth happened when his parents were still together, which gave him full right to affirm both paternal and maternal relationship with the elderly mother and the late father.
