KUWAIT CITY, July 23: The State Security Court of Appeals overturned the 10-year prison sentence imposed on a citizen involved in the case of espionage with the Iranian Revolutionary Guard and Hezbollah, and then sentenced him to life imprisonment, reports Al-Seyassah daily. The Public Prosecution charged the citizen with attempting to spy for foreign entities with the intent to harm the interests of Kuwait by communicating and meeting with the leaders and members of Hezbollah and the Iranian Revolutionary Guard. According to the case file, the defendant underwent training in carrying and using weapons, as well as operating drones, under the supervision of the members of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard and Hezbollah. The State Security Department at the Ministry of Interior monitored the terrorist activities of the defendant and gathered evidence that led to his arrest and referral to the prosecution.
