KUWAIT CITY, June 11: The Court of Appeals overturned the ruling of a lower court that nullified the decision of the Kuwait Airways chairman on the discontinuation of benefits granted to retired employees, including travel vouchers and other privileges, reports Al-Seyassah daily. The court also dismissed the lawsuit filed by the former employees challenging the decision.

Earlier, the Administrative Court ruled in favor of the retirees and annulled the chairman’s decision to suspend the abovementioned benefits. It based its ruling on the fact that Kuwait Airways followed a long-established practice of providing retired employees with travel and other incentives following the end of their service. However, in its latest judgment, the Court of Appeals reversed the Administrative Court’s decision and rejected the retirees’ claims, affirming the legality and validity of the challenged administrative measure. With this ruling, the judicial dispute has been conclusively resolved in favor of Kuwait Airways, bringing the litigation to an end.
