KUWAIT CITY, Aug 10: The Court of Appeals overturned the verdict issued by the Court of First Instance which sentenced two Kuwaiti citizens to 15-year imprisonment each for sodomizing a Kuwaiti citizen and robbing him of his money, as well as causing damages to a patrol vehicle. The court instead acquitted them.

The Public Prosecution had earlier charged the two suspects with the above-mentioned accusations and with the misuse of smartphone for filming the victim. Lawyer Jarrah Al-Enezi stressed that the crime of rape was not committed, highlighting the lack of criminal intention and kidnap. He affirmed that the arrestand- search procedures were illegal as they were not based on a warrant from the Public Prosecution.

Lawyer Al-Enezi insisted that the allegations and incident are illogical as they portray his clients as wild monsters and not human beings. He said the criminal investigations reveal some damages on the vehicle of the defendants, which proves that there was another incident.
