Court acquits manager of theft, 7 others punished

KUWAIT CITY, Dec 3: The First Instance Court acquitted the manager of a contracting company of stealing movable assets owned by the company, and handed out various punishments to 7 other suspects for the same accusation.

The Public Prosecution charged the manager and seven other employees for stealing the company’s assets. In defense of the manager, Attorney Muhammad Al-Husseini argued that the law allows employees to use movable assets and doesn’t criminalize the act, citing Article 25 of the penal act. He indicated the accusation against his client is based on malice, and that the accused was out of Kuwait at the time the incident took place
