KUWAIT CITY, Feb 21: The Misdemeanor Court has acquitted a company employee in charges of forging a document related to a client’s subscription contract with the company. The court explained that the case file lacked conclusive evidence to prove the defendant’s guilt, emphasizing that criminal judgments are based on certainty and that any doubt must be interpreted in favor of the accused.
The defendant’s counsel Lawyer Ali Al-Hussainan stated that the ruling confirms that a defendant cannot be convicted without conclusive evidence, noting that the court accepted the defense’s substantive arguments, which affirms the absence of the elements of the crime and any proof of guilt.
