KUWAIT CITY, March 12: The demand for imported cosmetics and accessories in the country decreased by 8.2 percent in the last nine months of 2021, reports Al- Qabas daily. Experts attributed such decline to the mandatory wearing of masks in many places, which reduced the need to apply cosmetics.

According to statistics from the Ministry of Commerce, the value of cosmetics imported during the last nine months of 2021 reached KD 20.7 million, compared to KD 23 million within the same period in 2020. The imported items include cosmetics and skin care products (other than medicines), including sun protection, hand and foot care products. The statistics also showed that the import of hair extensions and wigs reached KD15 million during the same period, compared to KD11 million in the pre-Corona era.
