KUWAIT CITY, Nov 8: Tashkent is set to host the international business forum “New Uzbekistan: At the Crossroads of Global Markets”. Organised by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the event will enable Kuwaiti businesses to establish direct contacts with Uzbek manufacturers, exporters and service providers, explore investment proposals and discuss cooperation in workforce training.

According to the programmes provided, the forum will comprise two parts. The main events of the first part will take place on 30 November–1 December, followed by the second part on 3–4 December. Business delegations from the Middle East and the Gulf, Europe and a number of other countries are expected to participate. The main venue will be the Uzexpocentre exhibition complex in Tashkent.

Direct Dialogue on Trade and Investment

The forum aims to expand Uzbekistan’s export opportunities, deepen industrial and agricultural cooperation, attract investment and build long-term business ties. For Kuwaiti importers and wholesale buyers, a key practical opportunity will be to discuss product ranges, quality requirements, delivery terms and cooperation models directly with manufacturers.

The first part of the programme features eight panel discussions covering logistics, tourism, finance and digital trade, human capital, chambers of commerce and small businesses, customs and standards, agribusiness, green energy and critical minerals. The exhibition will include the “Made in Uzbekistan” national showcase, country pavilions and sections featuring international companies. Requirements for entering Gulf markets, including halal standards, are also on the agenda.

The programme for 3 December includes a plenary meeting and 12 sectoral sessions. These will cover textiles, leather, footwear and furniture; agriculture and food; IT and artificial intelligence; banking and export finance; transport, logistics and customs; tourism; mechanical engineering; electrical engineering and energy; construction materials; chemicals and petrochemicals; workforce training; and geology, metals and jewellery.

B2B and B2G meetings, including region-to-region meetings, are to be arranged on the basis of requests submitted by participants in advance. Companies can therefore help tailor meetings to their specific needs by providing a brief description of their products or projects, the types of partners they seek and their proposed topics for discussion.

A Dedicated Focus on Recruitment Companies

Employers and licensed recruitment companies are also among the participants being invited from Kuwait. The “Human Capital and Skills” panel in the first part of the forum will address legal and organised recruitment channels, recognition of qualifications, training aligned with employers’ needs and the protection of workers’ rights.

The second part will feature a session on “Workforce Training and Employment Abroad”. This will offer Kuwaiti companies an opportunity to discuss staffing needs, vocational and language training, candidate selection criteria and cooperation arrangements.

Participation Arrangements and Logistical Support

Targeted business meetings, sector-specific visits to industrial enterprises and logistics facilities, and a visit to the Centre of Islamic Civilisation are planned for 4 December this year. Simultaneous interpretation in Uzbek, English, Russian, Arabic and Chinese is envisaged.

The information note provided for the Kuwaiti delegation outlines free participation in business programme sessions and B2B meetings, visa assistance, airport reception and local transfers. Special corporate rates at the Hilton and Lotte hotels will be available for bookings made through the organisers.

Participants may register and submit meeting requests through newuzbekistan.forum.
