Compensation to employers of domestic workers if worker absconds

KUWAIT CITY, Feb 1: The Public Authority for Manpower (PAM) has obliged domestic workers labor bureaus to pay compensation to the employers of domestic workers in case the employees abscond from work within the first six months of recruitment.

The recruitment bureaus will be obliged to compensate the employer the cost of recruitment including the ticket money. In its statement, PAM called on the employer to file an absconding case at the service centers affiliated to the Ministry of Interior, and to waive the responsibility of providing a return ticket to the employee who gets arrested or fails to complete the terms of contract.
