MP Al-Kandari urges FM to deal with those who offend Kuwait, its icons in a firm manner

KUWAIT CITY, Sept 11: MP Dr Abdulkareem Al-Kandari has urged the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Sabah Al-Khalid Al-Hamad Al-Sabah to deal with those who offend Kuwait and its icons in a firm manner, reports Al- Qabas daily. He indicated that the minister will end up facing interpellation if he continues to do nothing in terms of arresting nationals of some countries who commit such acts.

The lawmaker affirmed that grilling His Highness the Prime Minister is more effective than grilling ministers, as he was the one who chose them to occupy the ministerial positions due to which he is responsible for their actions. He urged the government to fix the demographic problem without dumping the consequences of the economic crisis on citizens.

MP Al-Kandari said the problems of Kuwait are not due to any minister but because of the absence of proper plan and vision, stressing that changing a minister for another is just an overused political trick. He indicated that playing the role of mediator in the Gulf crisis and adopting a neutral stance does not mean Kuwait should be allowed to become a target for anyone to offend the leaders and figures of Kuwait. Meanwhile, Public Authority for Manpower has discovered that some companies have been manipulating with the renewal of work permits for some sensitive positions by presenting academic certificates that are not authenticated by Ministry of Foreign Affairs, for the renewal of driving licenses, reports Al- Shahed daily.

According to an informed source, some of these companies have been taking advantage of the loopholes in the online system for renewal of work permits. The source affirmed that Public Authority for Manpower will coordinate with Ministry of Foreign Affairs to set up an online mechanism and use the civil ID number of expatriates who hold university degrees for registering the authentication of their certificates.
