KUWAIT CITY, Nov 30: The Education, Culture, and Guidance Affairs Committee convened on Thursday to deliberate on legislative proposals for establishing Nawaf Al-Ahmad University of Applied Sciences and Sabah Al-Ahmad University.
During the meeting, the committee explored the option of relocating the College of Basic Education from the Public Authority for Applied Education and Training to Abdullah Al-Salem University as an independent college within the university. The proposal aims to leverage the existing infrastructure and academic resources of Abdullah Al-Salem University without establishing a new institution.
The envisioned transition involves dividing the College of Basic Education based on its specializations, ensuring opportunities for educational advancement, and utilizing national expertise in development and employment initiatives. Committee Chairman Representative Hamad Al-Olayan and members Representatives Dr. Falah Al-Hajri and Dr. Jinan Bushahri attended the meeting, along with government representatives, including the Minister of Education and the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Adel Al-Mana, and specialists from relevant departments.
The session also welcomed attendees from Abdullah Al-Salem University, the Public Authority for Applied Education and Training, and various associations representing faculty, training staff, workers, and students from the Public Authority for Applied Education and Training.
