Commercial cheats in Kuwait face final checkout

KUWAIT CITY, July 23: The Commercial Control Department at the Ministry of Commerce and Industry had a meeting with representatives of the Ministry of Interior to discuss ways to strengthen coordination in conducting inspection campaigns to track down violators in different parts of the country, reports Al-Seyassah daily. In a press statement, Director of the department Faisal Al-Ansari disclosed that they talked about the mechanisms of cooperation between the two sides, ensuring the participation of the Interior Ministry in the inspection campaigns, thereby streamlining procedures and supporting the inspection teams.

He affirmed that strict measures will be taken against those proven to have committed grave commercial violations, up to and including immediate deportation, in accordance with legal procedures. He said the Commercial Control Team reviewed the operational mechanism of the Joint Operations Unit, which oversees and monitors the activities of 71 cooperative societies, as well as the food supply centers that distribute subsidized food items to citizens.

He indicated that work is underway to link the Ministry of Interior to the Joint Operations Unit to monitor the security aspects of the campaigns. At the conclusion of the meeting, the Ministry of Commerce and Industry honored the representatives of its Interior counterpart in appreciation of their efforts in supporting the inspection operations and contributing to the success of the recent campaigns.
