KUWAIT CITY, Nov 30: The Ministry of Commerce and Industry has entered into an agreement and memorandum of understanding with the Communications and Information Technology Regulatory Authority. The signatories, Nasser Al-Mutawa from the Ministry of Commerce and Abdullah Al-Ajmi from the Communications and Information Technology Regulatory Authority, aim to facilitate the provision of blocking and unblocking services for electronic content.

This agreement outlines the specifics of services related to blocking or unblocking social media accounts, websites, and electronic applications. It delineates the expected service levels for each category, defines the responsibilities of the Ministry of Commerce, and establishes the procedures for requesting content blocks or lifts. The agreement also serves to document the roles and responsibilities of all parties involved.

The collaborative effort is a testament to the cooperation between government entities to serve the public interest.
