WASHINGTON, May 17: US President Donald Trump has issued a new warning to Iran, saying that “the clock is ticking” for its leadership to take action, in a post on Truth Social on Sunday.
“For Iran, the Clock is Ticking, and they better get moving, FAST, or there won’t be anything left of them. TIME IS OF THE ESSENCE!” Trump wrote, issuing a direct threat of consequences if Tehran fails to act quickly.
Separately, Axios reported that Trump is expected to convene a Situation Room meeting on Tuesday with his top national security officials to discuss potential military options regarding Iran. The report cited two US officials familiar with the matter.
The developments come amid rising tensions between Washington and Tehran, with increased rhetoric and speculation over possible escalation in the coming days.
