‘50 pc are not under companies’ sponsorship’
KUWAIT CITY, June 28: Director-General of the Kuwait Municipality Ahmad Al-Manfouhi has said that the Municipality will punish the cleaning companies if the workers are caught begging for alms, reports Al- Seyassah daily.
Al-Manfouhi added 50 percent of the workers do not have work contracts with the cleaning companies but are seen on the streets with a broom to clean the roads, but actually they beg for alms in the garb of a cleaning worker.
Some of these workers are reported absconding by their sponsors. Al-Manfouhi said it is the responsibility of the cleaning companies that people who wear the company uniform have employment contract with the company.
