KUWAIT CITY, Mar 12: The Civil Service Commission has announced holidays across all ministries, government agencies, and public institutions in celebration of Eid al-Fitr for the Hijri year 1447. This decision follows External Circular No. (6) of 2026, issued in line with Cabinet resolutions regulating official holidays.
CSC stated that the exact dates of the holiday depend on the length of Ramadan this year:
- If Ramadan completes 30 days, Thursday, March 19, 2026, will mark the last day of Ramadan and a day of rest, with the holiday extending from Thursday to Monday, and official work resuming on Tuesday, March 24, 2026.
- If Ramadan lasts 29 days, Thursday, March 19, 2026, will be the first day of Eid al-Fitr, with the holiday running from Thursday to Sunday, and official work resuming on Monday, March 23, 2026.
CSC added that agencies and entities with special operational needs will have their holiday schedules determined by their competent authorities, ensuring alignment with the public interest.
The circular was issued and signed by Dr. Essam Saad Abdulrahman Al-Rabeean, President of the Civil Service Commission.
