Citizenship Forgery Explodes in Kuwait: 300 False Identities Unmasked

KUWAIT CITY, Oct 2: In a relentless drive to defend Kuwait’s national identity, the Supreme Committee for Citizenship Investigation has opened some of the darkest, most tangled chapters in the nation’s records. What they found was nothing short of explosive—files layered with lies, generations carrying false names, and a chain of forgeries so complex it resembled a web spun across decades.

The Nationality Investigation Department has become the sharp edge of this battle. Armed with hotline tips, tireless field investigations, and the irrefutable proof of DNA testing, investigators ripped away the masks of deception. What was once carefully hidden beneath forged certificates, fabricated witness statements, and fraudulent lineages now stands naked in the light of truth.

A Legacy of Lies

One file alone contained 41 names, which, upon investigation, spread into more than 300 false identities—each one claiming to descend from a Kuwaiti citizen, but each one nothing more than a product of manipulation.

Another case dated back to the 1970s, where an Iraqi was quietly inserted into a Kuwaiti family file. For nearly half a century, his children and grandchildren lived under the stolen name, until DNA testing shattered the illusion and proved their lineage false.

Even more shocking was the case of two Syrian brothers, each pretending to be the son of a different Kuwaiti father. Their scheme might have endured forever, if not for DNA tests that linked them not to Kuwait, but to their Syrian sister living in the country. The test proved her to be their biological sibling—and the supposed Kuwaiti lineage collapsed in an instant.

The Matryoshka of Forgery

Officials compared the cases to the Russian “Matryoshka” doll, where one figure hides inside another. In Kuwait’s files, forgery concealed forgery, and within each deception lay another. Every file investigators opened revealed new threads, each one leading deeper into a labyrinth of lies that spanned families, generations, and decades.

The Verdict: Nationality Revoked

At its latest meeting, chaired by First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Fahad Al-Youssef, the Supreme Committee took decisive action. It ordered the withdrawal and revocation of Kuwaiti citizenship from individuals proven to have obtained it fraudulently.

The cases presented ranged from:

  • Loss of Kuwaiti nationality for holding dual citizenship.
  • Withdrawal of nationality obtained through lies, forged documents, and false statements.
  • Revocation in the higher interest of the state, where the deception threatened the integrity of the nation’s identity.

The message was unmistakable: forgery can live in the shadows for decades, but the truth will always rise—and citizenship stolen by lies will be taken back.
