Citizen, expats held for failing to pay debts worth KD 65,519 – 3 reckless drivers arrested, 47 booked

KUWAIT CITY, Oct 24: Intensive security campaigns were launched in five governorates based on instructions from Assistant Undersecretary for Public Security Affairs at Ministry of Interior Major General Abdul Fattah Al-Ali, and a number of individuals were arrested, reports Al-Anba daily. The campaign launched in the Capital Governorate led to the arrest of three reckless drivers and issuance of 47 traffic citations.

An unidentified expatriate who was wanted by law for enforcing a sentence of five-year imprisonment and for non-payment of debt worth KD 408 was arrested in Yarmouk area. Another expatriate who was wanted by law for non-payment of debt worth KD 1,111 was arrested in Da’iya area. Both expatriates were referred to the concerned authorities for necessary legal action against them.

Meanwhile, an Iranian girl, who was reported as missing after she ran off from her family’s home in Salmiya area, was seized and referred to the police station. In Farwaniya Governorate, policemen seized seven vehicles which were driven recklessly by their owners in Sabah Al- Nasser. They also issued a number of traffic citations against some youths who had assembled at one of the roundabouts in Sabah Al- Nasser to perform stunts while it was raining. Their vehicles were also seized. In addition, Farwaniya securitymen also arrested a Kuwaiti citizen who was wanted by law for the payment of KD 61,000.

They also arrested a Pakistani expatriate who was wanted for payment of KD 3,000. Meanwhile, a vehicle that was parked near a mosque in Andalus area was seized after securitymen found it without its number plate. In Hawally Governorate, 12 expatriates were arrested after they were caught without their legal identification papers. Seven other expatriates were also arrested for violating the Labor Law. In Mubarak Al-Kabeer Governorate, security campaigns led to the arrest of 14 expatriates for violating the law. They were referred to the concerned authorities for necessary legal measures against them.
