KUWAIT CITY, July 25: After 30 days of continuous investigations and following up the details of thefts, the Criminal Investigation Department has succeeded in arresting the driver of the ‘Blue pickup wagon’ and his ‘fat’ friend who were wanted by law for carrying out thefts in the north, south and west of the country, reports Al- Anba daily.

According to a security source, the plainclothes men from the Kabad outpost suspected the main culprit in Salmiya but when the latter sensed the police presence he escaped to Riqqa via the Fourth Ring Road, but he was chased and arrested.

He initially tried to deny the charges, but when he was confronted by evidence and singled out by guards of farms who had seen him stealing, admitted he and his fat friend had carried out about 16 robberies in different areas particularly in Kabad and Wafra.

During interrogation he admitted to stealing with his friend many heads of cattle including expensive sheep and power generators and from the proceeds of the sale he bought drugs.

The suspect went on to say that he was able to steal a vehicle belonging to a pharmacy after he monitored its movement because the vehicle had psychotropic drugs such as Tramadol and Larica. In its June 19 issue, the Al-Anba daily had reported that the criminal activity was on the rise and that a warrant had been issued for the arrest of the suspect riding ‘Blue pickup wagon’ the vehicle that was allegedly used to carry out thefts.
