His Excellency Bishop Aldo Berardi with heads of churches in Kuwait and visitors
On the morning of December 25, at the Diwaniya of the Catholic Church in the State of Kuwait, it was a great joy for us to welcome this blessed gathering of well-wishers, faithful, heads of Churches in Kuwait, diplomats, and visitors, who came to exchange Christmas greetings and to share in the spirit of this joyful season. On behalf of the Catholic Church in the Apostolic Vicariate of Northern Arabia, I express my sincere thanks and gratitude to all who honored us with their presence. Your visit was a beautiful sign of generous friendship, closeness, and goodwill, and a sincere expression of the bonds that unite the components of society in this beloved country.
In this blessed time of Christmas, a time of peace, harmony, joy, reconciliation, and love, I extend, in the name of the Catholic Church, my heartfelt greetings and best wishes to His Highness Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, may God protect and preserve him, Amir of the State of Kuwait; to His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, may God protect and preserve him; to the wise Government; and to all the noble people of Kuwait. We ask Almighty God to grant everyone abundant health and well-being, prosperity and success, and that this glorious feast and the New Year now beginning may carry within them an outpouring of graces and blessings for the State of Kuwait, so that it may remain a shining model of hospitality, mutual respect, and fraternal communion between Christians and Muslims. We also express our deep gratitude for the atmosphere of openness and freedom of worship that the country enjoys, which allows believers to gather for prayer and to practice their faith in peace.
This climate of coexistence is a precious treasure that strengthens social cohesion and builds bridges of understanding among followers of different religions and traditions. As we look forward to the New Year, we renew our commitment to serve the common good, to care for one another, especially the poor and the vulnerable, and to be instruments of hope in a world that longs for peace. May God protect the State of Kuwait, bless its leaders and its people, and grant everyone every good: a Christmas filled with joy and a New Year rich in hope.
By His Excellency Bishop Aldo Berardi of the Catholic Church, Apostolic Vicar of the Northern Arabia
