MUSCAT, July 11: The Royal Oman Police have arrested a Chinese tourist who allegedly operated a mobile cyber fraud center in coordination with an international criminal network based in China.
According to official sources, the suspect used advanced technological equipment to breach and infiltrate local residential internet networks. Once access was gained, she reportedly set up a fake parallel network designed to broadcast fraudulent messages to nearby mobile phones. These messages aimed to deceive residents and facilitate financial scams.
The suspect’s actions disrupted communication systems in residential neighborhoods, and the fraudulent messages were intended to trick individuals into revealing sensitive information or transferring money.
