KUWAIT CITY, Jul 2: Customs officials at Kuwait International Airport’s Terminal 4 (T4) have seized counterfeit goods and undeclared cash from a passenger arriving from China, authorities said.
According to the General Administration of Customs, the traveler was stopped after inspectors became suspicious during routine screening procedures. A subsequent search of his luggage uncovered three suitcases containing counterfeit items, including clothing, watches, shoes, and accessories.
The passenger was also found carrying cash in multiple currencies, which was handled in accordance with legal procedures, the authority said.
Customs officials have launched legal action, including preparing seizure reports to be submitted to the relevant authorities, along with a separate report detailing the confiscated counterfeit goods for further processing.
The General Administration of Customs reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening border controls, combating illegal trade, and protecting intellectual property rights, as well as safeguarding the national economy and consumer markets.
