BEIJING, Apr 9: China has denied allegations that it provided support to Iran’s military during the ongoing conflict, rejecting reports that it shared intelligence on U.S. force movements.

A spokesperson for the Ministry of National Defense of China said the claims were unfounded, condemning what he described as the spread of “speculative and insinuating false information” targeting China.

The remarks came after a report by The Washington Post alleged that some Chinese private firms, including those with links to the People’s Liberation Army, had marketed intelligence related to U.S. military activities during the conflict.

Separately, Reuters reported that China’s largest chipmaker had supplied equipment used in semiconductor production to Iran’s military, citing U.S. sources.

Responding to the claims, Defense Ministry spokesman Zhang Xiaogang said China maintains an “objective and impartial” position on the Iran issue and has not engaged in any actions that would escalate tensions or contribute to conflict.

China has repeatedly called for restraint and dialogue amid the ongoing crisis, positioning itself as a neutral actor while denying involvement in military support activities.
