KUWAIT CITY, Oct 4: The Court of Appeals upheld the verdict issued to arrest an Egyptian religious healer for molesting three underage girls from his country whom he was supposed to treat through religious incantation (Ruqya), imprison him for a period of five years, and then deport him after serving the sentence.
According to the case file, the father of the three girls visited the healer in his residence in Mahboula in order to do the incantation on his daughters to rid them of envy. However, they left crying and told their father that the “healer” did immoral things to their bodies and harassed them. The father then filed a report with the Ministry of Interior. After investigations, the case was referred to the prosecution and then to the court.
