Child killed in accident on Abdali Road

KUWAIT CITY, Jan 18: A child died in a ghastly traffic accident on Abdali Road at Kilometer 77. The remains were referred to Forensics, says a press statement. Security sources said Fire Brigade from Abdali Agricultural Area rushed to the scene after receiving a distress call about the incident and helped all four people who were trapped inside the vehicle with various degrees of injuries to get out, including the 4-year-old girl, who died on the way to hospital.

In a similar incident, the Operations Room of Kuwait Fire Service Department (KFSD) received a call that a vehicle had toppled on Salmi Road with a number of people trapped inside the wreckage. Acting on information, firemen from Salmi Center went to the scene and helped remove the victims without registering casualties.

Meanwhile, officers from South Salmiya Fire Center brought to safety a number of people who were trapped inside an elevator that broke down at a building in Salwa area. Another report indicated a vehicle caught fire on the coastal road in Mahboula behind Aliyah and Ghaliya Towers, and officers from Manqaf Fire Center went to the scene and doused the flames without any human casualty. In yet another incident, fire broke out in a restaurant at the Green Tower in Fahaheel area without human injuries.

The fire was limited to material losses, thanks to officers from Fahaheel Fire Center that arrived at the location in a record time. In another incident, fire erupted in an underground cable near Mazaya Tower in Sharq area along Omar Bin Al-Khattab Street, and officers from Al-Hilali Fire Center extinguished the flames within a short period. Also, firefighters from Shuwaikh Industrial Area dealt with a vehicle that went up in flames on the Fourth Ring Road opposite Yarmouk area, and no injuries were registered. And, fire broke out in electrical cables at a major power generator along Doha Road toward the Fifth Ring Road. Acting on information, the Operations Room of the Interior Ministry dispatched officers from Sulaibikhat Fire Center to the scene and they managed to extinguish it using special equipment.
