KUWAIT CITY, Feb 2: Nayef Al-Murdas, Rapporteur of the Interior and Defense Parliamentary Committee, opened the door to scrutinizing driving licenses granted to expatriates by announcing that some 30,000 forged licenses were obtained by circumventing the law, reports Al-Rai daily.

He revealed asking the Interior minister to check driving licenses granted to expatriates, because the announcement of fraudulent licenses came from the former Undersecretary of the Interior Ministry for Traffic Affairs who confirmed the statement.

Al-Murdas also suggested that driving licenses should not be renewed unless the files of the holders have been checked thoroughly amid the mechanism of issuance of their licenses- whether it was done in accordance with legal procedures set by the Ministry of Interior or not, indicating the license should be withdrawn and the perpetrators held accountable.
