KUWAIT CITY, Apr 22: The Director of Funeral Affairs Department in the Kuwait Municipality, Dr. Faisal Al-Awadi, announced today, Wednesday, the changing of burial burials timings during the holy month of Ramadan to be from 9am until 2pm in order to facilitate the services and mitigate the families of the deceased and the mourners.

Dr. Al-Awadhi added in a press statement that this decision was based on the recommendations of the Council of Ministers and health directives issued by the Ministry of Health to limit the spread of the Corona Virus (Covid 19).

On the other hand, the Kuwait Municipality clarified that the funeral affairs department does not initiate burial procedures for the deceased except after the arrival of the burial permit with the body of the deceased, which is issued by the Ministry of Health or the Ministry of Interior, as the case may be.

Sources indicated that any delay that occurs is related to the procedures of the concerned authorities, and in the event that it is completed, the funeral affairs department performs the burial procedures from the moment the body arrives and the burial permit.

The municipality called on everyone to collect information from its official sources and to seek accuracy in transferring any information to serve the public interest.
