CETAA Kuwait hosts vibrant Kids Football tournament; KEA crowned champion

KUWAIT CITY, Dec 9:  College of Engineering Trivandrum Alumni Association, Kuwait chapter, organised with gusto its flagship event, the Kids Football tournament on 5th December at Classico Football grounds, Ahmadi. It gives CETAA immense pride to host this tournament every year, which has gained popularity amongst the children of the Kuwait Engineers Forum.

CETAA has partnered with Friends of CRY Club (FOCC), one of the topmost trusted NGOs committed to empowering children by protecting their fundamental rights. The tournament essentially fosters camaraderie and celebrates the spirit of sportsmanship by hosting a friendly football tournament for kids.

Invitees who had attended the event were CRY Representatives Mr Muralee Kutticode & Mr Pawan Chaudhry, (FOCC) Kuwait, and representatives from sponsors of the event, from Mr Riju K. Antony, XPO Technology, Mr Asok Kumar, Mark Technology, Mr Suresh Pillai, 

The event was attended by a robust KEF Team, which comprised KEF General Convener – Mr Ganga Prasad T, KEF GC Designate – Mr Biju K. Ravi, KEF Ex Officio – Ms Hanan Shan, CETAA President – Ms Sherly Sasi Rajan. Presidents and Chairpersons from the various Alumni: AECK – Ms Siby Sarah Ephrem, KEA – Mr Renji Varghese, NSSCEAA – Mr Premasekhar R, MACEAA – Mr Giju George, TECAA – Mr Cliffton J.Payappilly, TKMCEAA – Mr Subhash Natarajan, NITCA - Mr Jayadeep Premnath. 

Seven teams from the various associations played the league stage matches. The matches were action-packed and replete with stellar performances. Player of the league matches were as follows. NSS Vs TKM-  Joe Joshua Lijo (TKM), TEC Vs MACE- Athul Sandeep (TEC), CETAA Vs KEA - David Immanuel Varghese (KEA), NSS Vs TEC - Athul Sandeep (TEC),  TKM Vs MACE - Joe Joshua Lijo (TKM),  CETAA Vs AECK -  Nazal Najumudheen (AECK), NSS Vs MACE -  Hayyan Ahmed (NSS), TKM Vs TEC -  Athul Sandeep (TEC), KEA Vs AECK -  Nihal Kamal (KEA). 

The teams that topped the standings in the initial league phase — TKM and KEA — faced each other in the finals. The high-octane performance from both sides made it a perfect finale for the spectators, with the match ending 1–5 in favour of KEA, who clinched the trophy. Ryan Tibish (KEA) was adjudged the Player of the Match (Final). Athul Sandeep (TEC), however, bagged the Player of the Tournament for his outstanding performance in all his matches. 

The following were adjudged as promising players: Job Deline, Fadel Rahman, Abhinand Binu, Dhyaan Visakh, Aren Alex Joseph, and Joel Shinto. Joe Joshua Lijo was adjudged the most promising player, and Niranjan Pillai was adjudged the best goalkeeper. 

The KEF Children’s Club, led by Angelin Sony (President) and Parvana Rajeesh (Event Coordinator), took the initiative to organise face painting for kids along with exciting interval games, making the event more colourful and fun-filled.
